I’m a 3rd-year ECE and Neuroscience major in Sid Richardson college. I spent 2 years in FLL (2011-2014), 3 years (2014-2017) on FTC 9048 Philobots, and 2 years (2017-2019) on FRC 2468 Team Appreciate. I helped to start FIRST at Rice in Fall 2019 as a means for FIRST alumni attending Rice to give back to the FIRST community. Influenced by the intense and ongoing movements for racial justice which heightened in the summer of 2020, I’m passionate about using FIRST at Rice to promote Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in STEM by supporting underprivileged teams whose members are low-income, minority students in East Texas. Apart from FIRST at Rice, I lead Rice Crew (rowing club) and conduct neuroengineering research in Prof. Jacob Robinson’s lab.

I am a sophomore electrical engineering student at Duncan College. I was introduced to FIRST and FTC during my Senior year of high school. As a part of team 9879 I helped with vision programming as well as outreach. Although my time as a member of a FIRST team was brief, the organization spoke to me and I wanted to continue helping students, especially at underfunded schools, in any way possible. FIRST at Rice has served as the perfect opportunity for me to help K-12 students develop an interest in STEM, and I am excited to see what we can do next. In addition to FIRST at Rice I serve as the communications director of Rice Electric Vehicle and participate in research with the newly established RISC-V at Rice Lab.

Hi! I’m a sophomore majoring in Computer Science in Duncan College. I spent a total of nine years in FIRST: four years with FLL 404 Younglings and five years with FTC 9879 Root Negative One. During my time with 9879, I led my team to the Inspire award at the Houston World Championship, and was named a 2019 Dean’s List Award Winner. I joined FIRST at Rice in Fall of 2020 to not only continue my time in FIRST, but offer my resources to underserved and underrepresented teams. Outside of FIRST at Rice, I do research as part of the RENEW Wireless team and TA for COMP 140.
